PARENTE – Mr. Richard A. Parente, aged 80, passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013. He was preceded in death by his wives, Marlene and Dorothy Ann; brothers, Vince, Bob and Jim; son-in-law, Dave Dreyer; grandchildren, Matthew Nipke and Sara Dreyer. Surviving are his children, Dorothy (Steve) Lemmon, Martha Nipke, Beth (John) Boon, Richard (Stacey) Parente, Sue (Dale) Scrivener, John (Carrie) Parente, Janice Parente; 21 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Richard volunteered at Fredrick Meijer Gardens, was a lifetime member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church and a member of Steelcase Retiree Golf League. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially at Green Lake. Richard was an avid Notre Dame Fan – GO IRISH!

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 101 Hall St. SE., with Rev. Theodore Kozlowski as celebrant. His family will greet relatives and friends Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM at the Ronan-Vanderpool-Stegenga Funeral Chapel, 3131 S. Division Ave., and one hour prior to Mass at Church. Prayers of the Rosary will be recited Friday at 3:30 PM.
